Summary

Yuji Itadori is resolved to save the world from cursed demons, but he soon learns that the best way to do it is to slowly lose his humanity and become one himself!

In a world where cursed spirits feed on unsuspecting humans, fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna were lost and scattered about。 Should any demon consume Sukuna’s body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it。 Fortunately, there exists a mysterious school of Jujutsu Sorcerers who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural!

Tensions are high as the Goodwill Event between the Tokyo and Kyoto campuses of Jujutsu High approaches。 But before the competition can even begin, a couple of Kyoto students confront Fushiguro and Kugisaki。 Meanwhile, Yuji’s training gets interrupted by a mysterious crime involving grotesque bodily alterations caused by a cursed spirit。。。

Yuji teams up with a Jujutsu sorcerer to get some field training, and we're introduced to a high schooler who's falling under the influence of the big bad。 This volume is good for establishing who appears to be a bigger villain, creating a sort of 'power level' for the world with how the villains a high-grade characters fight, and showing what happens to 'ordinary' people who get caught in the middle of this 'good versus evil' fight。 It's enjoyable and goes by quick, though there's not much abou Yuji teams up with a Jujutsu sorcerer to get some field training, and we're introduced to a high schooler who's falling under the influence of the big bad。 This volume is good for establishing who appears to be a bigger villain, creating a sort of 'power level' for the world with how the villains a high-grade characters fight, and showing what happens to 'ordinary' people who get caught in the middle of this 'good versus evil' fight。 It's enjoyable and goes by quick, though there's not much about it that really stands out so far。 。。。more

I'm getting on board slowly, I do wish the storyline was more linear though? I've never been a fan of skipping forward and backward in a story。 I'm getting on board slowly, I do wish the storyline was more linear though? I've never been a fan of skipping forward and backward in a story。 。。。more

Ughhhh, I feel so conflicted!!! There were some nice fights scenes here AND we got introduced to one of my favorite characters (pffff who am I kidding I can't decide on a favorite!!) but it was also kind of really slow! So much morality talk~ We're building up to some intense moments that I can't wait to see, Mahito, even though you're a baddie I can't help 💕💕!! - BUT this felt like a strange change of pace。 I mean, weren't we just talking about some sports festival sounding thing?? Nanami being an adult who genuinely cares about not putting kids at risk or in battle makes me so fucking happy。 So many adults in these types of books or even in other forms of media only care about making kid soldiers so its refreshing。

NOTHING HAPPENED WITH THE QUALITY I JUST—the Vs。 M*hito arc isn’t my favorite because it’s so dark & without reprieve in a really… gross, misplaced way? it’s just unrelenting chapters of M*hito pulling his repulsive shit on already sufficiently suffering high schoolers without good build-up or closure, & M*hito’s about the only character in JJK that I just cannot on an intellectual or emotional level tolerate/find any kind of appreciation for。 I do like this is a sort of disillusioning, illumina NOTHING HAPPENED WITH THE QUALITY I JUST—the Vs。 M*hito arc isn’t my favorite because it’s so dark & without reprieve in a really… gross, misplaced way? it’s just unrelenting chapters of M*hito pulling his repulsive shit on already sufficiently suffering high schoolers without good build-up or closure, & M*hito’s about the only character in JJK that I just cannot on an intellectual or emotional level tolerate/find any kind of appreciation for。 I do like this is a sort of disillusioning, illuminating learning moment for Yuuji, one that made him tap into that absolute, vindictive far side of himself。 excited/scared to see where he takes himself further! rip Junpei, things was so close to being perfect, SO CLOSE 。。。more

Nope。 Not sure I'll survive this arc again 🥺Anyways I think the series starts to find its flow here。 ||Also the end comic of Gege trying to navigate the Shonen Jump party hard me cackling。 As a fellow writer, so relatable。 || Nope。 Not sure I'll survive this arc again 🥺Anyways I think the series starts to find its flow here。 ||Also the end comic of Gege trying to navigate the Shonen Jump party hard me cackling。 As a fellow writer, so relatable。 || 。。。more

Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is where the author really starts playing with the gritty themes they've established as the backbone of the story。 I love philosophical discussion, so I really enjoyed this volume's conversations surrounding humanity's natural fears towards one another and the natural world。 Mahito and Junpei act as great voices for these topics - Mahito being a creation of humanity's fear and hatred, whereas Junpei is someone alienated by that same fear and hatred。 One of my favourite Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is where the author really starts playing with the gritty themes they've established as the backbone of the story。 I love philosophical discussion, so I really enjoyed this volume's conversations surrounding humanity's natural fears towards one another and the natural world。 Mahito and Junpei act as great voices for these topics - Mahito being a creation of humanity's fear and hatred, whereas Junpei is someone alienated by that same fear and hatred。 One of my favourite moments in particular was Junpei's reflections regarding a Japanese idiom about the inverse of 'like' (hatred vs indifference), as well as his own thoughts regarding how people conduct themselves around others whom they dislike。 Overall, a great read for those who enjoy a daily dose of contemplation alongside their high-octane action。 。。。more

Nanami seems really cool and I have mixed emotions about Junpei。 I want to like him but his actions in the last chapter have me questioning things。 However, it’s also clear that he’s being manipulated。 I also have a feeling that he’s not going to be a long-term character, so I’ll feel bad whenever he does die。
